The current dilemma of intelligent photovoltaic power station operation and maintenance

  The construction period of photovoltaic power stations is about half a year,while the operation and maintenance period is as long as 25 years.Nowadays,power station operation and maintenance have shifted from relying on personnel on duty and power station inspection(traditional operation and maintenance)to data analysis and intelligent detection(intelligent operation and maintenance).

  With the rapid growth of the scale of photovoltaic power stations,their later operation and maintenance market is also constantly expanding.The operation and maintenance methods of power stations are constantly updated,and the efficiency of operation and maintenance continues to improve.

  Compared to traditional operation and maintenance personnel who are unable to detect problems in a timely manner and cannot perform precise maintenance on power station equipment,intelligent power stations use new technologies such as big data and cloud computing to monitor and analyze power station equipment in real time,which can detect problems in the first time and greatly improve the power generation efficiency of photovoltaic power stations.

  Under the combined influence of market demand and technological trends,intelligent operation and maintenance of photovoltaic power stations have emerged.Many domestic photovoltaic companies have already taken action and started to seize the intelligent operation and maintenance market.For example,Beijing Jinhongtai Technology Co.,Ltd.,which is the first to carry out intelligent operation and maintenance services,has combined advanced intelligent diagnosis technologies such as online big data and cloud computing with offline professional testing and operation and maintenance teams to launch a comprehensive monitoring and operation management system for photovoltaic power stations.This system has formed an intelligent operation and maintenance system with technical support,achieving controllable construction,refined management,centralized operation and maintenance of photovoltaic power stations,fewer people at the station end,digital decision-making,and maximizing power generation potential.

  On November 23,2017,the second seminar on photovoltaic power generation operation and post service was held in Beijing.At the meeting,Geng Wenqiang,General Manager of Qingdao Sanas New Energy Technology Co.,Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as"Sanas"),and Liu Qidong,Deputy General Manager of Hainan New Energy Power Generation Department of Yellow River Upstream Hydropower Development Co.,Ltd.,as guests,had wonderful conversations on the operation and maintenance of intelligent power stations.

  The thriving operation and maintenance of intelligent power stations

  The operation and maintenance of photovoltaic power station is the abbreviation of the operation and maintenance of the solar power generation system.Based on the system safety,the power station is scientifically managed by means of preventive maintenance and regular equipment performance testing.Ensure the safe,stable,and efficient operation of the entire photovoltaic power generation system,ensure the return reporting of investors,and also serve as the foundation for power station trading and refinancing.

  The operation and maintenance of intelligent power stations are based on technologies such as big data and cloud computing.Through software development systems,online data monitoring and offline professional management and operation of photovoltaic power stations are implemented.For example,Sanas utilizes the big data platform and operation and maintenance management system,relying on the distributed processing concept of the big data Spark architecture,to achieve human and financial linkage,and provide post evaluation support for various stages of fault recovery to ensure the timely rate of fault repair.Accurate classification and evaluation,processing time cycle of each link,loss of electricity in each link,and quantification of work efficiency in each link.

  Regarding this,For example,Geng Wenqiang:Taking cascade repair as an example,Bayannur Power Station decomposes the time from occurrence to recovery of faults based on real-time warning and fine analysis of cascade repair.The responsibility for fault recovery and fault supervision focus on occupied time.The department that delays fault recovery time the longest,through targeted and reasonable measures,shortens fault recovery time.Through the fault data platform,the processing time of each department is displayed to improve collaborative processing among departments Fault capability,shortening the fault recovery time by about 7%,resulting in a corresponding reduction of about 2%in lost power generation due to faults.

  Liu Qidong said,"With the increasing scale of photovoltaic power generation projects,the complexity of power station inspection work is gradually increasing.When conducting inspection work in this type of power station project,the conventional manual inspection method not only requires a lot of labor and time costs,but also poses certain risks to the inspection personnel,leading to delayed inspection of power station equipment.

  There are still shortcomings at present

  Although the operation and maintenance of smart power stations can improve the power generation efficiency of photovoltaic power stations,they also have their own drawbacks.It can even be said that in the context of the rapid development of photovoltaic power plants,we should not rely too much on high-tech,but should combine with offline operation and maintenance personnel to achieve the maximum monitoring effect of photovoltaic power plant operation and maintenance.

  Geng Wenqiang stated that despite the 25 year maintenance period of the power plant,digitization and intelligence are considered the most efficient operating methods.However,from the current industry situation,the efficiency improvement is not significant,and the actual utilization rate is relatively low,which cannot provide good operation and maintenance guidance.

  He pointed out that currently,there are several issues with the operation and maintenance of smart power stations:"The operation and maintenance of smart power stations have low data matching(including stability,effectiveness,and data volume);the application rate of power stations is low,which invisibly increases the workload of operation and maintenance personnel,information mismatch,and duplicate content;the improvement effect is not obvious,and the operation and maintenance of smart power stations have strong display and low practicality

  Liu Qidong said,"It is relatively easy to achieve the operation and maintenance of intelligent power plants from navigation to defect alarm through software settings,but on-site maintenance still requires personnel to handle;for example,the replacement of fuse fuses,the obstruction of battery components,and the loss of fragments require more practical operation by staff

  How to improve?

  Only by further improving the operation and maintenance of intelligent power stations can the power generation efficiency of photovoltaic power stations be maximized.

  Regarding this,Geng Wenqiang puts forward several suggestions:

  1.Digital power stations require unified standards;Form a unified system from the equipment end,acquisition end,and accuracy end,including the formulation of standards for power generation efficiency,equipment comparison,power station comparison,personnel allocation,power station losses,and so on.

  2.Further transparency of power station data is needed;Timely feedback to the centralized control platform through statistical data information,power generation information,operation information,and fault information,as well as on-site survey and detection data,can provide guidance quickly when faults are found.

  3.The equipment warning system needs to further improve efficiency;Manual inspection is transformed into automatic system judgment,which accurately and timely detects faults,ensuring that there are no hidden faults in the entire power plant,and achieving zero dead corner operation and maintenance of the power plant.

  4.Interconnect historical data with real-time data;Accumulate and analyze historical data,extract and filter real-time data,store it in a large database,form an experience and case library,provide support for operational services,and refine digital guidance for operation and maintenance.

  Geng Wenqiang added that digitization should be combined with actual power plant operation,ensuring its implementation through software development,and implementing long-term monitoring and tracking of the operation site.Pain points related to operation and maintenance should be identified through data mining,effectively guiding and controlling.
